Three types of studies can be distinguished here: interdisciplinary domain analysis, interdisciplinary studies on meta-topics, and studies on special disciplinary issues.
DOMAIN ANALYSIS
In these practice-oriented, mostly industry-related interdisciplinary studies, existing Big Data applications will be analyzed, discussing the potentials, investment barriers, social problems and solutions. Possible examples include domains such as medicine, social media or financial services.
INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES ON META-TOPICS
Other issues of the in-depth studies can include the meta-topics identified by the coordinating body relating to Big Data, such as equity, efficiency or functionality, which will be dealt with in detail, taking into account the findings from different disciplines.
SPECIAL DISCIPLINARY ISSUES
If there is an urgent need for research, technological, legal, economic or sociological (rather disciplinary) in-depth and detailed analyzes will be carried out on special issues.
