These are a special type of moderated group discussion involving a comparatively small number of participants. In the ABIDA project’s focus groups, selected topics emerging from the in-depth studies will be discussed with stakeholders and industry representatives. The focus groups are thus one of the project’s networking and dialogue instruments intended to activate and incorporate the knowledge of stakeholders and industry experts into the project.
The topics discussed in the focus groups can include a specific domain or industry or a particular subject area, such as a legal question. The primary aim of the focus groups is to compare different interests and opinions and to identify conflicting or consistent values and expectations related to the selected topics. The results of each focus group meeting will be documented and summarized in reports of the in-depth studies.
